The significant advantage of this technique is that equivalent bit of expostulation must be charged to benefit and misfortune account, along these lines simple to ascertain. Lessening Balance Method: This strategy is otherwise called recorded worth technique as for this situation deterioration is charged on the estimation of benefits that is stayed in the wake of charging the every year devaluation. A fixed level of devaluation is charged to the estimation of advantage until the benefits is auctions or discount from the accounting report. Consistently computation should be done to ascertain the devaluation (Fridson and Alvarez, 2011). Stock Management Method There are two additional techniques used to esteem the stock other than weighted normal strategy: FIFO (First in First out): In this technique merchandise that are first bought will be sold first, etc. Under this strategy estimation of stock at the accounting report date may increment as it is lower esteem stock is sold first as correlation or high worth stock. It is accepted that organization has paid more for purchasing the stock as the business progress. LIFO (Last in Last out): In this strategy merchandise that are last brought will be sold first, etc. It is will diminish the estimation of stock at the parity date (Bull, 2007). Interior control systems Interior control system assists with putting control on the abuse of assets like bank compromise explanation gives the distinction of equalizations in bank passbook and financial balance by and large record. Other inward control systems are insignificant sales register to record the costs made little costs happened on regular schedule (Fridson and Alvarez, 2011). End It can thus reason that Wonderland has done totally fine in first year of business notwithstanding of some misfortune. There is extraordinary expectation that organization will improve in future years. Reducing Workers Compensation Claims - 1964 Words

Reducing Workers Compensation Claims According to an essay published online by CCH Incorporated, the first step in reducing workers’ compensation costs involves ensuring that your company has effective safety and accident prevention programs in place to reduce the amount and severity of workplace illnesses and injuries. In addition to those programs, there are policies and procedures that should be implemented to help supervisors and Human Resources professionals in handling workers’ compensation claims in the most expedient manner possible. Issuing personal†¦show more content†¦Ideally, the process would involve some form of transitional return-to-work program in which injured employees are encouraged to return to alternative or light duty work as soon as possible. Each of these steps reduces costs to the employer and helps get the injured employee back to work sooner rather than later. Regardless of how many employees a company has, the employer should provide regular and mandatory training seminars to both current and new managers about tools and techniques for promoting workplace safety, in addition to the critical procedures immediately following an injury. An untrained manager might not understand his or her responsibility to complete an accident report. He or she might forget to interview witnesses. The manager might forget to take photographs of the place where the accident occurred, or might not know what to include in the report, such as facts, and what to exclude from the accident report such as speculation about the cause or causes of the incident. Without in-house training, supervisors and managers will not know the proper procedures for the acceptance and filing of workers’ compensation claims, or the need to ensure that injured workers seek immediate medical treatment. A comprehensive safety training program would also focus on the preventio n of managerial conduct that could later be construed as hostile to workers or unconcerned about workplace safety issues. Principles of Ecotourism Free Essays

Introduction Definition of sustainability. Briefly mentions environmental, experiential, socio-cultural and economic sustainability in relation to ecotourism. Environmental sustainability Importance of environmental sustainability in managing ecotourism and examples of impacts Strategies for achieving sustainability and how they are applied Experiential sustainability Importance of experiential sustainability in managing ecotourism and examples of impacts Strategies for achieving sustainability and how they are applied Socio-cultural sustainability Importance of socio-cultural sustainability in managing ecotourism and examples of impacts Strategies for achieving sustainability and how they are applied Economic sustainability Importance of economic sustainability in managing ecotourism and examples of impacts Strategies for achieving sustainability and how they are applied Conclusion Introduction Environmental sustainability Importance of environmental sustainability *Strategies* for achieving environmental sustainability Accommodating for hundreds of visitors has disadvantages for a site if the wildlife or vegetation isn’t capable to withstand an increased level of exposure. We will write a custom essay sample on Principles of Ecotourism or any similar topic only for you Order Now That’s why hardening of a site allows that site’s carrying capacity to be increased e. g. pit toilets, board walks and but still limiting number to ensure minimal impact of that site. The Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania, Australia, have installed board walks along the track for the concerns of environmental degradation and overcrowding. The boarded sections are established in sensitive areas in the national park with significant importance for an ecosystem. The softening of a site refers to soil replacement and replanting of native vegetation to rehabilitate the site as much as possible. There are many businesses that were built with very low levels of impact, because of the extensive research done before the construction of their building. The Couran Cove Resort in Queensland assessed the area for their resort before construction and removed the native vegetation, planning to replant them after the completion of facilities. A number of environmental measures were put in place during the construction of the resort, such as installation of solar powered cabins, identification and mapping of significant trees, strategies to manage acid sulphate soils, and an integrated water management system. As a result of many of these management strategies, the resort has become an industry leader in environmentally sensitive technologies. Visitation quotas and fees are a clever strategy to maintain a high revenue flow for the protected area and continue appropriate management. Zoning and site hardening influence visitation levels in specified areas, so these factors are considered when implementing fees and quotas. The overall number of visitors can be limited through the imposition of quotas and user fees; quotas are formal restrictions on visitor numbers and user fees (entry fees and other fees) increase the latter until visitor demand falls below the carrying capacity threshold. Mt Buffalo National Park in Victoria, Australia charges entry fees for visitors, whether camping or just visiting. These fees are put towards managing the park, including regular maintenance of provided facilities. There are methods to restricting and allowing appropriate viewing or access of wildlife by providing information and education to tourists; informing users about the recreational resource and current level of use. Making the users more sensitive to the potential impacts their behaviours might have on the environment is an effective way to make them aware. Experiential sustainability Importance of experiential sustainability The experience of the tourist is important to be aware of to evaluate the sustainability in the way it is implemented. People learn better when they are actively involved in the learning process and use as many senses as appropriate. Interpretation is effective way to educate tourists because it works with the visitors rather than against them. Such techniques include; visitor centres, education centres, displays and exhibits, self-guided trails and guided tours. These techniques are strategies to inform tourists of the natural environment to which they participate in, to help understand the importance of sustainably managing activities in a site. Strategies for achieving experiential sustainability Socio-cultural sustainability Importance of socio-cultural sustainability Socio-cultural sustainability of ecotourism relates to the stability of social and cultural systems, including the wellbeing of local and indigenous communities. Their involvement is important for tourism to be successful and unique. It is a significant contribution to ecotourism’s global following. Socio-cultural and economic sustainability are linked together to also facilitate the wellbeing and satisfaction of visitors. Strategies for achieving socio-cultural sustainability Economic sustainability Importance of economic sustainability Economic sustainability is associated with socio-cultural sustainability; relating to the stability of social and cultural systems, including the wellbeing of local communities. The impacts of economics in local communities include start-up expenses (acquisition of land, establishment of protected areas, superstructure, and infrastructure), ongoing expenses (maintenance of infrastructure, promotion, and wages), revenue uncertainties, and revenue leakage due to imports and non-local participation. Examples of positive aspects of economics include direct employment, improvement of transportation and communication systems; negative aspects of economics include no local employment opportunities, and leakages may be high. Establishing a protected area requires lots of expenses to be able to maintain the environment sustainably. The development of buildings and infrastructure such as visitor centres and toilets require regular maintenance, which means there needs to be enough income to retain a standard quality. Employing staff can be limited when money is scarce, maybe even overworking employees. For example, the Cape Otway Centre for Conservation Ecology in the Great Otway National Park is an ecotourism operation that was established in 2004. The owners of the Conservation Centre opened the business to become involved in conservation projects and research biodiversity conservation. When opening the operation, the owner’s budget was limited and was unable to employ enough staff to keep up with the daily routine activities; such as delivering service to guests and running of education programs. Their only choice was to employ enough to manage the business and providing the services themselves. *Strategies for achieving economic *sustainability Economic sustainability relates to the income of an operation or protected area to maintain the natural environment or site. Such income can come from user fees (public’s willingness to pay), taxation (sales tax, accommodation tax) and donations (lack of resources or money for endangered species). Earth Sanctuaries is a company that operates a network of privately-owned sanctuaries, set up with the aim of conserving native wildlife species. The company has eradicated exotic species from all of its properties, and has erected fencing that excludes feral animals from each sanctuary. To fund its conservation efforts, the company offers a mix of ecotourism products including accommodation, tours, and an environmental education program. These products are managed to provide the ongoing profit needed to run the sanctuaries, and to provide dividends to the company’s shareholders. Conclusion Sustainable tourism is important to be properly managed when utilising the natural environment. The four components of sustainability are environmental, experiential, socio-cultural and economic sustainability, each is critical principle for achieving ecotourism. Each component is linked to another and one cannot function well without the others. Ecotourism is difficult to be completely sustainable for the natural environment, but can be managed to minimise low impact. This is done by the four components between each; they interact with one another’s resources to appropriate management the natural environment; linking together to facilitate the wellbeing of local communities. International Scholarship free essay sample

International Scholarship As I sit in my bed, I think back to past. I remember the different experiences I had in each of the places I lived in. The red-colored house in Aguascalientes, Mexico, was the only house I could have ever called my own. It was the smallest house I’ve lived in. It had one bedroom, one living room, the kitchen, and the bathroom. Of course it was not necessary for it to be big since only my mom, my dad, and I lived in it. As a little girl, I would say proudly, â€Å"My dad built it with his bare hands.† But where is that house now? It is gone. Emptied, with such sadness, loneliness, and almost abandoned, for the remaining resident is my father. Many couples divorce. My parents divorced when I was at the age of seven. We lasted there one year, until the divorce. I stayed with my mom. We traveled north to Denver, Colorado, where we were taken in by my aunt. It was the third time I had moved, but this is when things got complicated for my mother and me. My mom felt like we were taking space from my aunt’s life. I enjoyed living there because the house had a descent size and it was decorated amazingly. Our part of the house was the basement, and it was all to ourselves, but two years later another move occurred. â€Å"Back to Mexico,† my mom said. â€Å"That is where we will go.† So we did. After getting used to living in one country for three years, starting from zero in another one was definitely tough. This move included a new school, new friends, a new community, and a new house. Surprisingly, I adopted extremely well. The house was my grandparents. Without doubt, it was beautiful. Small trees in front of the house made it more recognizable from the surrounding houses. The bancas made of cement were used to spend the evenings sitting in front of the house watching the little kids play hide and seek, kick ball, tag, or even jump rope as the sunset came in. I was one of the many kids who participated in these games. I loved it there. I felt free. My life; however, was still not how I wanted it. Four years passed. These were years full of excitement and childhood. In spite of this, I was no longer a kid. At that time I was twelve years old, and education for me was coming to an end. In Mexico, education is harder to obtain. For that reason my mom made the decision of once again relocate. â€Å"Moving, again,† I said. It was ultimately the best move of my life. The house I moved in belongs to my uncle and his wife with their two kids. It is undeniably the biggest house I have lived in. From the outside it looked some what small, but as I entered, the view changed. I counted five bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms, the garage, the laundry room, and closets everywhere. This has been the fifth time I changed houses and so far, it is the last. My mom and I are still settled there. Still, something about knowing that four out of the five places I have lived in are not places we owned but rather have just been borrowed as a temporary settlement, makes me want to reach for whatever is out there in the world that I can obtain to change this situation. I have constantly heard my mom say she wants to be able to decorate her own house, have her own ways of running the house, and simply have her own house. She has not been able to obtain this because her allowance does not permit her to do so. I came to this country for one reason: to expand my education. The only way to do it is by attending college, but in order to do that, money is needed; the kind of money that I do not have a hold of. Ever since I started attending high school, I began hearing the word scholarship. I questioned where I would be able to receive a scholarship. I know I have what it takes to go to college, the education, the readiness, and preparation, but what I do not have is the money. The lack of money is really a big issue for me. I picture myself in a college classroom, listening to the professor teach the lesson for the day. I see the stack of books lying on top of my bed while I study, but most importantly, I see myself as a successful person after college. I want to earn enough money to look out for myself, and what matters most is looking out for my mom. I can finally buy her a house. I want to make sure, however, that it is better than the one she has been wanting. I wish to attend college to better my life, to find a settlement and not move around like I have previously. Through scholarships is practically the only way I will be able to make my drams reality; therefore, my education depe nds on the scholarships.

Top 15 upcoming jobs to look out for this fall

Top 15 upcoming jobs to look out for this fall The summer is almost over, and it’s time to start thinking about packing away the swimsuit and pulling the business-wear back out of the closet. If you don’t already have a job lined up for this coming fall- or are thinking that it might be time for a career change- you don’t have to worry that nothing’s out there. Quite a few industries are thriving, and looking to hire this fall. Here are 15 of them. 1. HealthcarePeople are always going to get sick or injured- that’s just a fact of life. The upside of this unfortunate reality is that the healthcare industry will always need people to help treat the constant inflow of patients. Registered nurses are currently needed more than any other healthcare professionals, but there are also plenty of openings for licensed vocational and practical nurses, as well as physical therapists. For those who have nursing degrees, the job market is pretty rich at the moment.2. SalesYou don’t need a degree to go into sales, just a strong drive to serve customers and the ability to make whatever you’re selling desirable. If you have a knack for convincing consumers that they simply cannot live without Apple’s latest iPhone, you’re in luck, because telecommunication sales is particularly hot right now. The best positions offer both an hourly wage and commissions.3. ManagementSalespeople and other business associates need some guidance to do their jobs. That’s where management comes in. Of course, management is not only needed in the retail sector. Medical managers, health services managers, and marketing managers are also very much in demand at the moment.4. Office and administrative support workIt’s a good time to be in administration. New positions for office and administrative support workers are opening at a break-neck pace, especially in big cities such as New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Customer service representatives, executive secretaries, offic e-worker supervisors, and executive administrative assistants are in high demand to keep business rolling smoothly. Monster.com recently added more than 388,000 listings for admin professionals, so it’s a great time to be one.5. AccountingAccounting may not be the most exciting profession in the world, but these cagy number crunchers are needed in a number of industries this fall. One reason for the high number of accounting positions is the abundance of new companies that started up in the wake of the economic collapse a decade ago. Those relatively new companies are still on the lookout for help in their accounting departments, and brand new companies are kicking into gear all the time, which means that accounting jobs should be abundant for some time.6. Personal financial servicesAlthough we’re a decade removed from the financial collapse, the economy is still working its way onto its feet and people are still very much in need of advice regarding the most sensible way to handle their money in the current climate. Financial planners help people at all economic levels to manage their money. They help the rich stay rich and the less fortunate to keep their heads above water, and they are very necessary these days.7. ConsultingThe rise in new businesses has also increased the demand for consultants. They’re the people who offer sage advice for running businesses as efficiently as possible. They offer suggestions on making the most of personnel, managing clients effectively, and other key moves.8. Call centersAnother industry on the rise is the call center business. More and more, customer service is being handled over the phone. Call center workers both help customers with problems and handle sales. Initially, this kind of work tended to get outsourced, but public outcry has resulted in call centers opening up in the United States. Those with traditional sales and customer service experience may decide to put their skills to use at one of these new domestic call centers. The jobs are definitely out there.9. TransportationThe popularity of online sales is one reason that call center work is thriving these days. The online retail industry has also created a high demand for the delivery people who transport the products purchased through Amazon, Fresh Direct, and other online companies. That means truckers and other drivers should have a fairly easy time getting work these days. Those who are interested in transporting people instead of goods may find work for companies such as Lyft and Uber.10. Computer supportThe twenty-first century’s decisive move to an online environment means that all manner of computer-related industries continue to enjoy boon times. Like call center work, computer support work used to be outsourced to high degree, but this is also changing. IT is coming home again.11. SoftwareOur reliance on the Internet also means that the demand for new software developments is constant without any sign of decline in the near future. With new computing systems, devices, apps, and gadgets popping up on a seemingly daily basis, those who can develop new software for such technologies are vital.12. Food preparation and serviceWhile industries such as transportation, accounting, and personal financial services are on the rise because of specific contemporary factors, the strength of the food industry is pretty constant. However, certain areas of the industry are certainly in a growth phase this fall, such as supervisors and servers. The fast food industry may be less mighty than it once was, but food preparers and servers are still very much needed at McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, and Wendy’s. Cooks are needed too.13. Repair and maintenanceHere’s another old-fashioned industry that also continues to deliver the jobs. Those who are great with their hands and have a knack for installing appliances and performing automotive maintenance or general repairs will find a ver y welcoming job market. Supervisors for mechanics, installers, and repair people are also necessary in today’s market.14. EngineeringOne of the greatest crises facing the United States at the moment is its crumbling infrastructure. Roads, bridges, dams, and airports are in dire condition, creating safety hazards that could turn tragic without serious work. Civil engineers are responsible for redesigning our infrastructure, and the demand for them is definitely on the rise. However, engineers do not just rebuild the physical structures on which we drive. Biomedical engineers work on our bodies, and the rising healthcare industry has opened a great need for them as well.15. ConstructionEngineers are not alone in reviving our infrastructure. Once they have redesigned our roads and buildings, construction workers are then needed to do the physical labor. The explosion in real estate that has seen new apartment buildings and condominiums spring up all over our nation’s citi es has made way for a lot of construction opportunities too. Supervisors and workers who extract old materials before new construction can begin are also benefitting from the construction boom that is making this fall a hot time for the job market.

The US-Mexico Border Flow of Illicit Drugs Essay

The US-Mexico Border Flow of Illicit Drugs - Essay Example The major aim of this cooperation has been to create disruption for illicit drugs market in order to make the situation more difficulty for the illegal traffickers to manufacture and traffic the drugs to the US. The US has been providing the Mexican authorities with some projects and programs such as interdiction of shipment of cocaine which comes from South America, stemming the manufacture and carrying of opium poppy and marijuana. In addition to this it has come up with a program of controlling precursor chemicals employed in methamphetamine production (Los Angeles Times). hero :: essays research papers

Heroes   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  If I had to identify someone as a hero, I would have to say that my personal hero would have to be Will Taubin, aka â€Å"Ratboy.† Will Taubin is a freestyle BMXer, like myself. We used to ride together until he moved to California two years ago. Will Taubin has taught me the three most important things in my life. The first thing that he taught me is to set a goal and never give up until you have achieved it. The second thing that he taught me is â€Å"You can if you think you can.† The third thing that he taught me is â€Å"You only get out what you put into something.†   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Will’s goal since about age 10 was to become sponsored by a BMX corporation. Nobody believed that he could get a sponsor. He rode his bike everyday and had people film him and sent his tapes to different bike companies in a hope to get sponsored. Three years ago at the 2-Hip Meat the Street Contest, the owner of Standard Bikes asked if he wanted to ride for them. He said yes and he set it was the best thing that ever happened to him.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The second thing that Will taught me is, â€Å"You can if you think you can.† One day we were riding and he did an alley-oop 180 barspin to fakie feeble grind to half cab 180 out on the mini ramp sub-box. No matter how hard I tried, I could not land the halfcab 180 out of the fakie feeble. After about a half-hour of me trying this he rode up to me and said, â€Å"You can if you think you can.† I got back onto the deck of the mini ramp and said, â€Å"I can do this.† I took off and got the first half of the trick pretty good, but on the 180, my front tire slipped out. I tried again and I landed it almost perfectly.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The third thing that Will taught me is â€Å"You only get out of something what you put into it.† Will told me that when we were talking about biking, but I use that saying on everything I do in my life. For example, I never expect a good grade on a test if I don’t study.

CREATIVE WRITING: is any writing that goes outside the bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, or technical forms of literature, typically identified by an emphasis on narrative craft, character development, and the use of literary tropes. Due to the looseness of the definition, it is possible for writing such as feature stories to be considered creative writing, even though they fall under journalism, because the content of features is specifically focused on narrative and character development. Both fictional and non-fictional works fall into this category, including such forms as novels, biographies, short stories, and poems. In the academic setting, creative writing is typically separated into fiction and poetry†¦show more content†¦Ã‚ · Have someone check your work.  · Recopy it correctly and neatly. STORY WRITING: Since prehistoric times, when tales were told around fires and painted on cave walls, stories have been an essential part of our human experience. But what exactly is a story – and how can you write a great one? A story is simply a tale of events that are linked by cause and effect. It can be true or it can be a work of fiction. We expect stories to have a beginning, middle and end; they involve at least two characters, and some events take place. Three Types of Story 1. Short Stories A short story is a piece of fiction under 20,000 words. More typically, a short story will be 1,000 – 5,000 words.
